CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced its weekly swimming and diving honors, with freshman Theo Proca earning ACC Swimmer of the Week recognition for the first time in his career. Proca becomes the third member of the NC State men's swimming and diving team to earn ACC Swimmer of the Week honors this season.
Proca made an immediate impact in his collegiate debut over the weekend, competing in the distance freestyle events during the Wolfpack's dual meet against UNC-Wilmington. The freshman captured first place finishes in both the 500 freestyle (4:19.86) and 1,000 freestyle (8:45.96), setting new pool records at the David B. Allen Natatorium in each event.
In addition to his pair of record-breaking performances, Proca secured the No. 5 spot in NC State program history in the 1,000 freestyle, further highlighting an impressive start to his collegiate career.
