Women’s Golf Set for NCAA Chapel Hill Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The No. 8 seed NC State women's golf team is primed for the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. The tournament is set for Monday, May 11 to Wednesday, May 13 at the UNC Finley Golf Club.
NC State is ranked No. 44 in the Scoreboard by Clippd Ranking and is the No. 8 seed in the tournament, tied for the second highest seed at an NCAA Regional in school history. The Wolfpack is paired with Michigan State and High Point. The group will tee off at 8:55 a.m. off hole 1 on Monday. Tee times on Tuesday and Wednesday are set according to the current standings after each round.
The top five teams and top individuals from the non-advancing teams will advance to the NCAA Championship, which is set for Friday, May 22 to Wednesday, May 27. The national championship will be hosted at the Omni La Costa Golf Course in Carlsbad, California for the third straight season.
NC State is seeking its fifth nationals appearance as a team in school history. Last season, NC State finished sixth as a team at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional. Marie Eline Madsen won the tournament as an individual to be the top player from the non-advancing teams to earn a spot at the national championship. Madsen became the first individual to play at nationals for NC State since 2008 and just the second in school history.
Finley Golf Club, which is less than 30 miles away from NC State, is a par-70, 6,177-yard course. The 12 teams in the field feature five conference champions, eight top 50 teams and four top 25 squads.
The last time NC State played at Finley Golf Club, the Wolfpack played at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in October and finished third out of 15 teams with an 11-over 851 (275-287-289).
