Wolfpack Stand in Sixth After Round One at NCAA Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team sits in sixth place, one stroke off the cutoff, after shooting a 3-over 283 in round one at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. The 3-over par marks the seventh lowest round as a team, relative to par, at an NCAA Regional in program history. Ellie Hildreth and Marie Eline Madsen lead the Pack, each with a 1-over 69, as both are tied for fifth.
NC State is one stroke behind fourth-placed teams Oklahoma State and Mississippi State. On Tuesday, the Wolfpack will tee off with the Cowgirls and Bulldogs off hole 10 at 8 a.m.
Hildreth shot a 1-under 69 behind five birdies, nine pars and four bogeys. The 69 marks her third round in the 60s this season. Madsen shot 1-under par behind four birdies, 11 pars and three bogeys. Her 69 marks her 11th round in the 60s this season. The 69 is tied for the fourth best round at an NCAA Regional in school history.
Vania Simont finished the first round with a 1-over 71, tied for 18th in the leaderboard. She logged five birdies, seven pars and six bogeys.
Lindsay McGrath was the fourth counter toward the team's score with a 4-over 76, sitting in a tie for 38th. Elizabeth Sullivan shot a 6-over 78, as she is tied for 48th.
