Top 15 Matchup Sees No. 14 NC State Travel to Atlanta to Take on No. 3 Georgia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. – For the second consecutive ACC weekend, No. 14 NC State will take on a ranked opponent as the Wolfpack travels to Atlanta and gets set to take on No. 3 Georgia Tech for a three-game series beginning on March 27^th at 7 p.m.

Friday's game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, with the final two games of the series broadcast nationally on ACC Network.

This will be the first trip to Atlanta since 2024, when the Yellow Jackets swept NC State. The Wolfpack has only been 11-28 at Georgia Tech since 1990 and holds a 62-81 record in the series.

NC State will be looking to end a three-game losing streak after falling in the midweek to Campbell. The loss to the Camels marked the first time this season the Wolfpack lost a game after scoring first.

The Yellow Jackets will be the third-ranked opponent the Wolfpack will have faced this season. NC State is 2-2 after beating No. 16 Coastal Carolina and winning the series opener against No. 11 Florida State.

Friday starter Ryan Marohn is coming off his fourth win of the season after leading the Wolfpack to a win over the Seminoles. He had a career-high 10 strikeouts for an ACC game in six innings pitched. He is currently fourth in the ACC with a 2.03 earned run average.

Luke Nixon, Ty Head, Mikey Ryan, and Chris McHugh have started all 25 games for the Wolfpack this season. McHugh is one of four Wolfpack players with a five-RBI game this season. He leads the Pack with 13 multi-hit games, 10 games with multiple RBIs, and 32 total on the season.

With 233 runs scored on the season, that is the fifth most in the ACC and 13^th in the nation. The run production comes from the Pack producing with runners on base. With runners on, NC State is hitting .317; with the bases loaded, the Wolfpack is hitting .444. With runners in scoring position, the Pack is 98-296, which equals a .331 average. When there is a runner at third with less than two outs, NC State is hitting .413 on the season compared to its opponents, who are hitting .200 in the same category.
