Pack Falls to #24 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY – The NC State men's basketball team had its six-game win streak snapped on Monday night as it fell to 24th-ranked Louisville, 118-77, inside the KFC Yum! Center.
Louisville jumped out to a 15-4 lead four minutes into the game and never looked back.
The Pack got within five, 25-20, on a Quadir Copeland dunk with 10:58 left in the opening half, but the Cardinals scored the next seven points to go up by 12 and NC State never got within single digits again.
Louisville had a 56-36 lead at the halftime break, the most points given up by NC State in the first half this season, and then opened the second half on a 19-4 run to extinguish any hope of an NC State run.
Ven-Allen Lubin led NC State with 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Tre Holloman added 19 points.
NC State made a season-low four three-pointers and shot a season-worst 18.2 percent while the Cardinals made 18 three-pointers and shot 60.0 percent from three-point range. The 18 three-pointers are the most ever for an NC State opponent.
Mikel Brown, Jr., led the Cardinals with 45 points and as he made 14-of-23 shots, including 10-of-16 from three-point range. The 45 points tie for the most ever by an NC State opponent and his 10 three-pointers are the second-most ever for a Pack opponent.
Ryan Conwell added 31 points for the Cardinals in the win.
NC State is back in action Saturday when it hosts Miami. Tipoff against the Hurricanes is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN2.
