NC State Continues Conference Play, Hosts Georgia Tech

RALEIGH – The NC State women's basketball team will play one more conference game before the holiday break, hosting Georgia Tech on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear their holiday sweaters to the game and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive an ornament.
ABOUT NC STATE
- NC State earned its 10th straight ACC opening win at Miami to start the conference slate 1-0 and improve to 7-4 overall against one of the toughest schedules in the country
- The Wolfpack will play another ACC matchup before the holiday break, hosting Georgia Tech for NC State's ACC home opener
- NC State jumped from eight spots in the NET rankings from No. 38 to 30 after its Quad 2 win at Miami. The Pack has an average opponent NET ranking that stacks as the second highest among Power 4 schools and fifth overall (75), as well as the fourth best NET SOS among P4 (10)
- Khamil Pierre leads the team in scoring (14.6) and rebounding (13.0). She is the nation's second leading rebounder and has the second most double-doubles in the NCAA (7)
- Zoe Brooks paces the Pack with 4.7 assists per game and has averaged 14.2 points per game
- Zamareya Jones has a team's most 1.4 steals per game
- Tilda Trygger paces NC State with 1.2 blocks per game and has a team's best field goal percentage a .536 (45-of-84)
- Three different Pack players rank in the top 25 in rebounds per game in the ACC with Pierre (1st - 13.0), Trygger (8th - 7.9) and Brooks (16th - 6.4)
- NC State leads the league in rebounds per game (48.64) and defensive rebounds per game (33.5), which are third and second in the country, respectively. The Pack is also third in the ACC in rebounding margin (11.2) and offensive rebounds per game (15.1)
SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH
- Georgia Tech was picked to finish 15th in the ACC Preseason Poll. Last season, the Yellow Jackets finished 22-11 and was a ninth seed in the NCAA Tournament
- The Yellow Jackets are 4-8 this season under first-year head coach Karen Blair
- Penn State transfer Talayah Walker leads GT with a 12.9 points per game and 18 steals
- Florida State transfer Brianna Turnage tallies a team's most 8.0 rebounds per game and 12 blocks

- NC State led in all but 1:20 of its game at Miami to open ACC play with an 87-61 victory

SERIES HISTORY (NC STATE LEADS 54-25)
- The Pack and Yellow Jackets will play for the 80th time of the all-time series
