
Pack Plays Cal for First of Two Games in California

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State women's basketball team is ready for a top 25 matchup against No. 24 California on Thursday at 10 p.m. Eastern. NC State and Cal will face off as ACC opponents for the first time, as well as the third time overall in school history. The Pack and Golden Bears will tipoff at 10 p.m. Eastern on ACC Network Extra.
ABOUT NC STATE
- ​The Wolfpack is on a seven-game winning streak and started 2025 with a 91-52 win over Boston College to begin 3-0 in ACC play
- The Pack is one of five schools in the ACC to start 3-0 in league play
- The Pack's average opponent NET ranking is the second best in the country (trailing Villanova), the highest of all Power 4 schools, as well as the 12th toughest strength of schedule in the country, which is No. 7 of all Power 4 teams
- NC State is one of 14 schools in the country to have picked up at least two Quad 1 NET wins and one of 36 with at least one. The Pack is one of nine schools to have at least seven top 100 wins

- Zoe Brooks has a team-leading 3.3 assists per game and a .477 field goal percentage
- Head coach Wes Moore has coached over 1,100 games in his career, having coached his 1,100th vs. James Madison
- The Pack leads the ACC and the country in least fouls per game (12.2). NC State also leads the league in field goal percentage defense (35.3), which is 19th in the country. NC State is second in the ACC in defensive rebounds per game (30.2) and third in rebounds per game (43.3), which are 13th and 18th in the NCAA, as well as fifth in blocks per game (4.6), three-point percentage defense (27.8) and scoring defense (60.2)
SCOUTING CAL
- Cal was picked to finish 14th in the ACC Preseason Poll. The Bears are coming off a 19-15 season, 7-11 in PAC 12 play. Cal made it to the second round of the NCAA WBIT, beating Hawai'i, 65-60, before falling to Saint Joseph's, 63-61
- This season, the Bears are ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll, sitting with a 14-2 record and 2-1 mark in the ACC
- Cal is also 9-0 at home this season
- Ioanna Krimili leads Cal with 15.8 points per game
- Ugonne (Michelle) Onyiah paces the way with 7.3 rebounds per game and 24 total blocks
- Kayla Williams has a team's most 73 assists and 26 steals

SERIES HISTORY (NC STATE TIED 1-1)
