Pack Wraps Up Busy Weekend With New School Record

RALEIGH - The NC State track and field team returned to action today, establishing a new school record on the final day of three weekend meets.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CAMEL CITY INVITATIONAL:
Middle Distance
For the second time in eight days, freshman Angelina Napoleon took down an indoor school record. She clocked in at 2:07.46 in the women's 800m (elite) to finish first overall and set the all-time Wolfpack record for the event.
In the men's mile (elite) Jake Toomey was the first Pack runner to cross the finish line, doing so in 4:05.36 to set a new personal best and finish fourth. Wesley Larson finished one place behind him, clocking in at 4:07.41 to take fifth and set a new PR mark.Â
Travis Koekemoer (4:08.98) and Miles Ally (4:12.00) also competed, finishing in sixth and eighth, respectively. Ally's time is good for a new personal best.
Distance
More victory came the Pack's way in the women's 3000m as Alyssa Hendrix finished first overall with a time of 9:43.62. Caroline Murrell also ran and took home a top-10 finish. She finished the race in 9:54.29 to claim seventh.Â
It was more of the same on the men's side of the 3000m, with JJ Malach clocking in at 8:12.46 to set a personal best and take first place. Kevin Antczak finished just behind his teammate, finishing in 8:12.92 which earned him second place. Dan McGoey rounded out the top-3 and ensured an all-NC State podium as he placed third with a personal-best time of 8:16.94.
Gionna Quarzo picked up a top-five finish in the women's 3000m (elite) after placing fourth with a time of 9:32.05. With a personal-best mark of 9:32.11, Mariah Howlett finished fifth overall. Sydney Seymour took sixth place after running a time of 9:43.60.
Brett Gardner led the Pack in the men's 3000m (elite) as he finished in 7:59.91 to grab fourth place. After clocking in at 8:09.86, Ian Harrison earned seventh place in the event.
BOB POLLOCK INVITATIONAL:
Distance
Amaris Tyynismaa produced a podium finish in the women's 3000m (invitational) with a third-place time of 9:14.37.
Middle Distance
In the men's 800m (invitational), Zach Hughes came in sixth after clocking in at 1:50.71.
BU TERRIER CLASSIC:
Distance
In the final event of the night, Sam Bush established a new personal best in the women's 5000m after submitting a seventh–place time of 15:53.15. Grace Hartman also competed, taking 10th place with a mark of 16:09.11.
