No.21 NC State Falls Short To No. 11 Harvard

Cambridge Mass.- NC State men's tennis fell short to No. 11 Harvard, Sunday afternoon in it's first road match of the season. The Wolfpack headed into Sunday's match off of a two match win streak in the teams opening week of competition.
The Pack fell short early, giving up the doubles point to the Crimson. Junior Joe Wayand had a quick reaction in his singles match defeating opponent Rohan Murali, 6-2, 7-5, putting the Wolfpack on the board. Luca Staheli, Braden Shick, Fons Van Sambeek, and Martin Borisiouk all put up a fight, bringing all matches to the third set. All were just shy of in the third set, extending Harvard's series lead 3-0.
Statement from coach Kyle Spencer:
"Very tough match today against Harvard. Credit to Harvard for capitalizing in the doubles, putting us in a very difficult position. With that being said incredible fight from the guys to battle back from losing four first sets and push those all to the third sets. Unfortunately, it was just too deep of a hole to climb out of today. We will get back in the lab, and keep pushing hard to be ready for Duke next Saturday."
