RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack will be returning to Carter-Finley Stadium and opening a three-game home stand this Saturday by hosting Furman. The game is a sellout as NC State will be celebrating Parents & Families Weekend. Great tickets are still available by visiting StubHub, the Official Fan-to-Fan Ticket Marketplace of the Wolfpack.
 Â
The game will kick at 7:30 p.m., and will be televised on the Regional Sports Network (RSN).
Â
Last time out, the Pack suffered its first loss of the season, 24-10 at Mississippi State.
Â
"More than anything it's back to basics, it's back to fundamentals and getting back to work and being excited about fighting against adversity," said head coach Dave Doeren. "You're going to play against Furman this week and, very disciplined football team.
Â
"A team offensively that does a lot. A team offensively that does a lot, they're an option team, they're a spread team, they'll get in the pistol and run downhill at you and their quarterback can run and throw. They've got nine starters back and defensively they're going to be where they're supposed to be. They're very sound. They're coached well."
Â
Unfortunately, the Pack come out of the contest at Mississippi State with two defensive starters suffering season-ending injuries in linebacker Payton Wilson and safety Cyrus Fagan.
Â
"Two guys that obviously are great players but great people," said Doeren. "They've work hard. It's the ugly part of football. The good news is both of them will be fine, post-surgery and recovery, and have a chance to continue their careers.
Â
Jaylon Scott will step up and start at our Will linebacker position, while Jakeen Harris, who was started 13 of the last 14 games, will return to his safety spot.
Â
"I think perspectives, and lessons are a big deal in life and when you have two players of the caliber of Payton and Cyrus that can't play that really want to play, I think that's a lesson for a lot of these guys," said Doeren. "And so, look forward to the opportunity to get back on the grass."
Â
The Pack and Furman will be meeting for the 18th time all-time. The most recent meeting was a 49-16 Wolfpack win back in 2017 in Raleigh. That 2017 matchup marked the first meeting between the two squads in 32 years.
Â
"I look forward to coming home and being a part of our environment, but we missed that last year," said Doeren. "We missed the fanfare and the college game day experience."
