Women’s Soccer Takes Down VCU On The Road

RICHMOND, Va. – NC State women's soccer (4-0-1) passed its first road test of the year as it took down Virginia Commonwealth (3-1-1), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.
VCU's Anna Bagley tallied her second goal of the season in the 44th minute to give her team the one-goal lead heading into the locker room at half time, but goals by Mikhail Johnson (63rd minute) and Cara Elmendorf (79th minute) kept the Wolfpack undefeated on its season.
Jameese Joseph was credited with the assist on both goals, which were her first of the year.
For Elmendorf, it was the first goal of her career, while for Johnson, it was her first of the year and second in her career.
The Pack returns to action March 20 when it hosts Wake Forest in a nonconference matchup at 1 p.m. at Dail Soccer Stadium. The program will honor its senior class of Jessica Berlin, Mackenzie Crittenberger, Mikhail Johnson and Hope McQueen prior to kickoff.
