RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team continues action Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. in a dual meet at East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) opponent Pittsburgh.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack posted its best score of the season on Saturday, Feb. 1 with a 196.250 in its meeting with North Carolina. Three season-best team scores were recorded at the meet as NC State posted a 49.075 on bars, a 49.125 on beam and a 49.300 on floor.
Multiple members of the team either tied their career-best scores or set new career highs at the meet. Freshman Chloe Negrete was named EAGL Rookie of the Week after she topped her career high on beam with a 9.850 and tied her career-best 9.850 on floor. Her beam score earned her a tie for first place, and the Frisco, Texas native was part of a tie for third place on floor.
SCOUTING PITTSBURGH
The Panthers recorded a 195.700 in their quad-meet at George Washington with West Virginia and William & Mary. The score is the highest of the season for Pittsburgh. Haley Brechwald was part of a tie for first place on vault, Michaela Burton claimed first place on beam and Ciara Ward notched a spot in a tie for first place on floor in the quad-meet.
