
Pack in Eighth Place after Two Rounds of ACC Championship

Teams will play third and final round on Saturday
NEW LONDON, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team shot a team score of three-under par in two rounds of play on Thursday and is in eighth place with one round to go at the ACC Championships held at the Old North State Club.
Senior Harrison Rhoades leads the Pack lineup with a score of three-under par after 36 holes. The Raleigh native ended his first round on a high note, scoring an eagle on the ninth hole to close his round at 1-under par. He carried the momentum into the second round, registering five birdies against three bogeys to finish with a two-under par 70.
Rhoades is currently in a tie for 14th place.
Stephen Franken and Easton Paxton are next for the Pack in a tie for 19th place. Franken rebounded from an opening round 74 to shoot a three-under par 69 in the second round, the lowest round of the day for NC State, to move to one-under par for the tournament.
Paxton led the Pack in the first round with a two-under par 70 and shot a 73 in the second round to sit at one-under par.
Christian Salzer is in a tie for 40th place at two-over par. Salzer shot an even-par 72 in the first round and shot a 74 in the second round.
Benjamin Shipp rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 47th place at four-over par. Shipp shot back-to-back rounds of 74 on Thursday.
Defending champion Georgia Tech has jumped out a 17-shot lead on the field at 30-under par. Duke, Florida State and Virginia are all tied for second-place at 13-under par.
Georgia Tech's Andy Ogletree is on-top of the individual leaderboard at 13-under par.
The ACC announced on Wednesday evening that the tournament would play 36 holes on Thursday, take Friday off because of expected inclement weather and will play the final 18 holes on Saturday.
The final round will start Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ACC Network Extra coverage will begin on Saturday as scheduled at 1 pm.
