
Pack Finishes in Sixth Place at ACC Championship

Sophomore Easton Paxton leads Pack with first career top-10 finish
NEW LONDON, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team moved up two spots on Saturday to finish in sixth place at the ACC Championships held at the Old North State Club.
Sophomore Easton Paxton finished in a tie for ninth place to lead the Pack. The Riverton, Wyo., native shot a bogey-free, four-under par 68 on Saturday to finish the tournament at five-under par.
The 68 ties for his career-low round and the ninth-place finish is the first top-10 collegiate finish of Paxton's career.
Stephen Franken and Harrison Rhoades were next for the Pack at two-under par for the tournament in a tie for 18th place. Franken shot a one-under par 71 on Saturday, while Rhoades shot a 73.
Franken has now finished in the top-20 in nine of 11 tournaments this season.
Christian Salzer was next for the Pack in a tie for 32nd place at two-over par for the tournament. Salzer shot an even-par 72 in the final round on Saturday.
Benjamin Shipp rounded out the Pack lineup in a tie for 38th place at four-over par. After shooting back-to-back rounds of 74 on Thursday, Shipp closed the tournament with an even-par 72.
Georgia Tech won the championship with a tournament-record score of 37-under par. Virginia finished in second-place, 15 shots back of the Yellow Jackets, while Wake Forest claimed third place, three shots back of UVA.
Florida State's John Pak won individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 13-under par.
Next up for the Pack is the 2019 NCAA Tournament Division I Men's Golf selection show. The selection show is Wednesday, May 1 at 9:00 p.m. on the Golf Channel.
