Men's Golf Begins Play Sunday at Golfweek Conference Challenge

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team returns to the links Sunday when it begins the three-round Golfweek Conference Challenge held at the Cedar Rapids Country Club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Tee Times: The Pack will tee off from Hole 1 with the first NC State player going off at 11:10 a.m.

Wolf Run Intercollegiate Wrap-Up
- NC State opened the fall season with a fifth-place finish out of 16 teams at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate. The tournament was the first under new head coach Press McPhaul, who replaced Richard Sykes after Sykes retired in the offseason.
- Harrison Rhoades led the pack with an 11th-place finish with a three-round total of 221. Stephen Franken was two shots back of Rhoades with a score of 223.
- Benjamin Shipp finished in a tie for 26th place with a score of 227, Nolan Mills, Jr., finished one stroke back with a 228 and Christian Salzer rounded out the line for NC State with a three-day total of 233.
NC STATE LINEUP
1 – Harrison Rhoades: Rhoades was an All-ACC Academic Team selection last season. He competed in nine tournaments and 26 rounds during the 2017 spring season after transferring to NC State from Georgetown. He ranked fourth on the team with a stroke average of 73.0 per round and earned three top-20 and one top-10 finish on the season.
2 – Stephen Franken: Franken was a PING All-Region and All-ACC Team selection last season. He competed in all 12 tournaments for the Pack. He finished first on the team in stroke average. His 71.17 strokes per round average was the fourth lowest in program history. He recorded eight top-20 finishes and had six top-10 results
3 – Benjamin Shipp: Shipp was a PING All-Region Team selection after a solid freshman debut for the Wolfpack. He competed in 11 tournaments and 32 total rounds as a freshman, averaging 72 strokes per round to rank third on the team. He earned six top-20 finishes and had four top-10 results. He shot rounds of 67 on four different occasions.
4 – Nolan Mills Jr.: Mills competed in 12 tournaments as a sophomore last season. He ranked fifth on the team in stroke average at 73.1 per round. He claimed medalist honors twice. He won the 2017 Wolfpack Spring Open with a three-round score of 200, shooting 66-67-67 and also claimed top honors at the Barton Intercollegiate.
5 – Easton Paxton: Paxton will make his NC State debut at the Golfweek Conference challenge. Paxton is the lone freshman on this year's Wolfpack roster. The four-time US Junior qualifier was also a four-time Wyoming individual state champion while in high school at Riverton.
