
Women’s Golf Finishes Sixth At Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational

Clyburn and Ko pace Pack with pair of 72’s
KANE'OHE, Hawai'i - The No. 21 NC State women's golf team posted a final round of 294 ( 6) on Wednesday to finish sixth overall with a combined score of 883 ( 19) at the 32nd Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kane'ohe, Hawai'i.
Texas A&M took the team title at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course with a five-under par 859, while Oklahoma State and Washington State rounded out the top three with scores of 874 ( 10) and 875, in respective order. A&M's Maddie Szeryk took medalist honors with a tournament-record 207 (-9).
India Clyburn and Naomi Ko paced the Pack in the final round as both carded 72's (E). Clyburn collected her fourth top-10 finish of the season with a 54-hole score of 214 (-2), and Ko finished 26th in the individual standings with a 222 ( 6).
Sarah Bae posted a 74 to conclude her showing with a 223 and finish in a tie for 32nd, while Leonie Bettel and Cecily Overbey rounded out the Pack's traveling five with final rounds of 76. Bettel finished one stroke behind Bae in T36th, while Overbey shaved seven strokes off her round two score to finish 78th with a 237 ( 21).
NC State will return to action March 24-26 at the LSU Tiger Invite, held at The University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
