RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team posted a season-high score of 195.550 inside Reynolds Coliseum during its annual Sweetheart Meet on Saturday night. Despite the performance, the team fell to George Washington and Kent State, moving its overall record to 6-10.
The Colonials finished with a 196.725 and the Golden Flashes posted a 196.125. As a team, the Pack recorded seven top-five finishes along with five career-best event scores.

Vault
In the first rotation of the night, five from NC State posted scores of 9.775 or better. Chelsea Knight and Alexa Phillips led the team, both of whom earned scores of 9.825 to take fifth place in the event.
Freshmen Drew Grantham and Amanda Fillard scored 9.800 while Melissa Brooker turned in a 9.775. Both Grantham's and Brooker's scores marked career-highs.
As a team, the Wolfpack charted a score of 49.025, tying its season-best.
Bars
On bars the Wolfpack had three earn scores of 9.825 or higher. Brooker, the team's best performer, received her second career-high of the night, notching a 9.875 to take first place. Knight and Amanda Fillard turned in scores of 9.825 to help the team post a 48.850 in the rotation.
Beam
Amanda Fillard earned a season-high score on beam, leading the team with a 9.825 to tie her career-high and take fourth overall. Brooker also tied her career-high with a score of 9.750. Grantham posted a 9.750 and Alexis Buecler posted a 9.725 to help the team notch a season-high score of 48.700 on the rotation.
Floor
In the final rotation of the night, all five from NC State posted scores of 9.725 or higher. Knight was the team's highest scorer, turning in a 9.850 to finish fourth overall. Grantham and Alexa Phillips each score 9.825, Brooker earned her third career-high of the meet as she scored 9.750 in the rotation and Buecler wrapped the event, notching a 9.725. NC State finished the rotation with a 48.975.
All-Around
Three Wolfpackers competed as all-all-arounders with Brooker and Knight leading the way with a score of 39.150 to tie for fourth. Grantham finished with 38.975 points to take sixth.
Up Next
NC State will hit the road to take on Utah Southern in Cedar City, Utah. The meet is will take place on March 3rd and is set to begin at 9 p.m.
