AIKEN, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team returns to action Monday to compete in its second tournament of the spring season. On March 7 and 8, the Wolfpack will participate at the 2016 Palmetto Invite hosted by the University of South Carolina – Aiken.
RECENT NEWS
Senior Carter Page was named the ACC Golfer of the Month on March 3. The Waynesville, N.C., native finished third in a stacked field of 75 golfers at the Puerto Rico Classic in February. The third-place result was the best finish of his career and marks the fifth time he's finished within the top five of a tournament field.
THE SEASON SO FAR
NC State enters the Palmetto Intercollegiate the owner of a 64-20-1 record during the 2015-16 season. The Wolfpack finished the fall season with four straight top-three finishes and opened the spring portion of the season with an 11th-place result among a stacked 15-team tournament field at the aforementioned Puerto Rico Classic.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 2016 Palmetto Intercollegiate features 54 holes of golf over two days. Teams will begin each day with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Palmetto Golf Club.
THE LINEUP
Carter Page – ACC Golfer of the Month for February.
Stephen Franken – Freshman has achieved one top-four finish in just four collegiate tournaments.
Jacob McBride – Has accumulated six top-20 finishes in his career.
Stanhope Johnson – In two tournaments this season, boasts a stroke average of 73.0 per 18 holes.
Nolan Mills Jr. – Recently finished first among 30 golfers at the Duke-UNC Individual Tournament.
