Wolfpack Competes at Historic Schenkel Invitational this Weekend

RALEIGH – Following a strong finish of fifth place at the recent General Hackler Championship which included three Wolfpack golfers in the top 15 of the tournament field, NC State returns to action this weekend at the 2016 Schenkel Invitational.

Hosted by Georgia Southern, the Schenkel Invitational features 54 holes of golf from March 18-20 at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. Teams will play 18 holes each day on the 6,962 par-72 course.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY
With its beginnings in 1971, the Schenkel Invitational boasts a rich and storied history. Players who have finished within the top 10 of the tournament field have combined for more than 248 wins and eight individual NCAA championships. NC State's Matt Hill (2009) is one of these select few national champions.

THE SEASON SO FAR
With just three tournaments remaining before the 2016 ACC Championship, NC State has posted a combined fall and spring record of 84-29-2.

THE NC STATE LINEUP
Jacob McBride – Tied for fifth at the General Hackler Championship with a career-best score of 211.
Carter Page – Tied for 12th at the General Hackler Championship.
Stephen Franken – Tied for 15th at the General Hackler Championship.
Stanhope Johnson – Averaging 73.5 strokes per round this season.
David Cooke – Has earned five career top-10 finishes.
