Gymnastics Posts Season-Best Vault Score In Weekend Tri-Meet

The Pack additionally posted five career-high individual scores
AMES, IOWA- The NC State gymnastics team capped off its tri-meet with Iowa State and Lindenwood Friday night with a season-high score of 49.125 on vault.
Additionally, the team notched five career-best scores inside Hilton Coliseum.
The Wolfpack posted a team total of 194.475, while the Cyclones tabbed a team score of 195.650 and the Lady Lions finished the meet with a mark of 194.250.
Uneven Bars
Highlighted by Chelsea Knight's score of 9.825 on bars to finish fourth, NC State posted a team total of 48.650 on its first rotation of the evening.
Her score ties Knight's career-best on the event.
Brittni Watkins finished fifth on the rotation with a 9.775, while Hannah Sobhan posted a 9.700 to finish 11th and round out the top three scores on the event for the Wolfpack.
Balance Beam
On its second rotation of the evening, the Pack earned a total of 48.800 on beam. Nicole Wild was the top finisher for the team on the event as she finished third with a score of 9.850.
Also, Amanda Fillard and Michaela Woodford tied for fourth with a mark of 9.750, while Knight and Caitlyn Fillard both posted a 9.725 to finish in a tie for seventh place.
Floor Exercise
Watkins took the top honor on floor with a score of 9.875, while Knight and Paris Phillips each posted a mark of 9.750 to tie for eighth place. Phillips' outing marked a career-best.
As a team, the Pack earned an event total of 47.900.
Vault
Collectively, the team posted six scores of 9.750 or higher to accumulate a season-high score of 49.125 on vault to close out the meet. The team was led on the rotation by Alexa Phillips with a career-high score of 9.875 to win the event.
Additionally, Watkins tied for second place with a mark of 9.850 and Caitlyn Fillard finished fourth with a career-best score of 9.825 to round out the top three scores for the Pack.
All-Around Competition
Watkins tied for second in the all-around competition with a score of 39.175, while Knight earned a career-best outing with a mark of 39.100.

NC State will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face UNC-Chapel Hill, Bowling Green and Pittsburgh in a quad meet. The meet is set for a 1 p.m. start.
