
Taylor Leads Wolfpack In First Day In Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico - Rachael Taylor carded a 1-under par 71 to lead the NC State women's golf team in the first round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
NC State (+9) finished the first round in seventh place with a team score of 297, just four shots behind TCU and Iowa State for third place. Arkansas (+2) is leading the team standings.
Taylor recorded three birdies and just two bogies on the day and is tied for fifth in the 82-player field. She was one of just seven players to shoot under par. Lindsay McGetrick and Cecily Overbey (+2) are tied for 20th.
"We are in good position to climb the leaderboard," Taylor said. "There are two days left and the Pack feels great."
Vivian Tsui (+6) was fourth for the Pack and Stephanie Pribonic (+9) rounded out the NC State lineup.
NC State continues play in Puerto Rico Monday, Feb. 16 with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Atlantic time.
