Frantova Falls in Quarterfinal Round at ITF Hilton Head 10K

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Martina Frantova will return home after a loss in the quarterfinal round of singles play at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Hilton Head 10K tournament.

Frantova fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 to Makenna Jones (USA) in the quarterfinal singles match-up.

She had been in tournament play for almost two weeks, competing in the ITF Charleston 10K tournament in Charleston, S.C., prior to beginning play at the ITF Hilton Head 10K on Wednesday.

Frantova advanced to the singles semifinal round at the ITF Charleston 10K before the tournament was officially cancelled due to severe weather. She rode an eight-game winning streak into the loss on Friday.

The Pack returns to play on Oct. 18 at the ITF Florence 25K in Florence S.C. Four from the squad began play at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Friday.
