PALO ALTO, CALIF. - 17th-ranked Sanaa Bhambri and Sandhya Nagaraj fell in the round of 32 at the NCAA Doubles Championship Thursday.
Bhambri and Nagaraj were outlasted by 13th-ranked Venise Chan and Denise Dy of Washington, 4-6, 3-6.
“Sanaa and Sandhya had an incredible season,” said NC State head coach Hans Olsen. “Although we weren’t able to get the win tonight, that doesn’t diminish their accomplishments this year. It was disappointing to come up short, but Dy and Chan played a tough match and we give them a lot of credit.”
The seniors climbed as high as seventh in the national rankings, and represented only the third team in NC State history to qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship.
