
Women's Golf in 12th at Lady Puerto Rico Classic

RIO GRANDE, P.R. - Competing in the first tournament of the spring season, the NC State women's golf team currently sits in 12th place after first round action at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic. The Wolfpack shot a 23-over (311) in first round action in Rio Grande, P.R., on Sunday.
Freshman Maureen Dunnagan led the Pack in first round action, as she shot a 3-over (75) and is tied for 16th place overall. Dunnagan posted a 1-under on the back-nine, with a pair of birdies and only one hole over par.
Redshirt freshman Caroline Ellington and freshman Ana Menendez each shot a 6-over (78) in first round action. Menendez had a team-high four birdies on the day.
Freshman Brittany Marchand shot an 8-over (80), while sophomore Amanda Baker finished with a 10-over (82).
The nation's top ranked team, Alabama, holds the team lead. The Crimson Tide were the only team under par in the first round, shooting a 2-under 286. Camilla Lennarth of Alabama holds the individual lead at two-under (70).
The second round will be played on Monday, and the final round on Tuesday. Live stats are available on golfstat.com.
