Miami Lakes, Fla. – Sophomore Meghan Chapman carded an even-par round of 72 to lead the NC State women’s golf team during day two of the Hurricane Invitational at Don Shula’s Golf Resort.
The Wolfpack currently find themselves in eighth place after posting a +16 (304) team score on Monday and shooting +36 (608) through 36 holes. The Pack will enter Tuesday’s final round just eight shots out of third place.
A day removed from shooting a three-over 75, Chapman followed up with another strong performance by climbing up 11 spots on the leader board to a seventh place tie at +3 (75-72=147) with one round left to play.
Senior Emily Street shot a three-over 75 and is tied for 28th at +9 (78-75=153).
Senior Joanna Saleeby fired a six-over 78 and finds herself tied for 44th at +11 (77-78=155).
After starting the day in the top-10 following a first round 74, junior Brooke Baker had a rough day shooting an 83 and is tied for 53rd at +13 (74-83=157).
Junior Julie Saleeby recovered from her day one struggles and shot a seven-over 79 and is tied for 74th at +19 (84-79=163).
First-round leader Georgia State maintained its lead over the field at +16 (592) through two rounds. San Diego State’s Christine Wong heads into the final round a top the leader board at -1 (143).
The final day of action at the Hurricane Invitational begins at 8:30 a.m.
