Women's Golf Tied for 10th at Mercedes-Benz

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. –The NC State women’s golf team sits in a tie for 10th after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Women’s Collegiate Championship at Fox Den Country Club.
The Wolfpack shot a team score of +19 (307) on Saturday and is at +33 (609) through 36 holes. The field of 18 teams includes 13 ranked in the top-50 nationally.
Sophomore Meghan Chapman had the low round of the day for the Wolfpack with a three-over 75 and is tied for 29th at +7 (76-75=151). The Seminole, Fla., native had a pair of birdies to offset five bogeys.
Junior Julie Saleeby began the day in the top-10 but couldn’t maintain that after shooting a seven-over 79 on Saturday and is now tied for 39th at +8 (73-79=152). She had one birdie on her round today.
Senior Emily Street shot a five-over 77 and is tied for 42nd at +9 (76-77=153). She had another up-and-down round with four birdies, seven bogeys and one double.
Junior Brooke Baker had a better day today with a four-over 76 after shooting an 80 yesterday. She will enter Sunday’s final round tied for 60th at +12 (80-76=156). She had two birdies today.
Senior Kathleen Strandberg struggled to an 81 today and is tied for 74th at +14 (77-81=156). She had two birdies, but also posted four double bogeys.
Host and 18th-ranked Tennessee continues to lead the field at -2 (574) after the second of three rounds. Louisville’s Sara-Maude Juneau is the clubhouse leader at –3 (141).
Final round action begins Sunday at 9 a.m.
