
Pack Women's Golf Team in 17th at Bryan National

BROWNS SUMMITT, N.C. – Sophomore Lauren Doughtie shot a three-over 75 on Friday to lead NC State into 17th place after day one at the Bryan National at Bryan Park Golf Club’s Champions Course.
Doughtie, who is tied for 29th overall, began her day at hole No. 6 of today’s shotgun start. After a roller coaster round through 15 holes, she was at even-par heading to her final three holes of the day. However, she bogeyed all of them to finish up at +3. The Norfolk, Va., native had three birdies on her round to offset six bogeys.
Junior Stephanie Derrey shot a seven-over 79 and is tied for 60th.
Freshmen Kathleen Strandberg and Emily Street each carded rounds of 80 to tie for 65th, while Joanna Saleeby shot an 85. Street eagled the par-five 11th hole to move to -2 for her round, but bogeyed three of the next four holes and was unable to solve a tough-playing course on Friday afternoon.South Carolina’s Jenna Pearson has the individual lead with a first round 68. She has a two-shot lead over Purdue’s Stefanie Endstrasser and Furman’s Blair Lamb.
Purdue has the team lead, carding a score of 290 on Friday. North Carolina is one shot back at 291, while Duke is two shots back at 292.
The second round gets underway with a shotgun start at 11 am.
