BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - Nancy Mountcastle and Stephanie Derrey both shot two strokes over par to lead the NC State women's golf team in the first round of the Bryan National Collegiate on Friday. The twosome are tied for eighth place individually and have the Wolfpack in third place at 11 over after one round of 18 holes at the par 72 Bryan Park Champions Course.
Lorraine Ballerano fired three over in the first round and is tied for 14th and Molly Birmingham carded a four over first round and is tied for 25th. Jessica Vincent is also competing for NC State.
Purdue leads the 17-team field at seven over and Jen Janangelo from Duke individually at five under. Action continues Saturday before concluding Sunday with a final round of 18 holes. Complete results, as well as live scoring, are available at www.golfstat.com.
