Wolfpack Takes Sixth At Cougar Classic

HANAHAN, S.C. - The NC State women's golf team took sixth place in its season-opening tournament, the Cougar Classic at the par 72 Yeaman's Hall Sept. 11-12. Jessica Vincent led the Wolfpack with a two over par final score to tie for 15th place individually. The sophomore from Burlington, N.C., birdied four holes in the final round.
Lorraine Ballerano and Stephanie Derrey both tied for 20th place, just one stroke behind Vincent and Lauren Harling ended up five over to finish in the top 50. Nancy Mountcastle also competed for the Wolfpack.
Tennessee won the 17-team tournament with a six over total and the Lady Vols' Marci Turner took home medalist honors with a four under final score. NC State returns to action Oct. 7-9 when the Pack travels to Chapel Hill, N.C. to compete in the Tar Heel Invitational at Finley Golf Course.
