
Vega Leads Pack To Fourth At ACC Championship

CLEMMONS, N.C. - The NC State women's golf team shot a 288 in the third round of the ACC Championship Sunday, five strokes better than Saturday's second round score and 15 better than Friday's first round total. The Wolfpack finished fourth of the seven teams at the par-71, 6,348-yard Salem Glen Country Club. Briana Vega led the team with a three-under-par score of 68 in the final round, giving her a three-over total and a top 10 finish.
Colby Cobb fired a four-over score of 75 in the final round to give her an 11-over total and a share of 18th place. Ashlee Dean improved three more strokes Sunday (after improving three from Friday to Saturday) to card a 72. She finished 12-over and tied for 20th. Courtney Pomeranz shot a third round 78 to finish 23rd at 13-over and Lorraine Ballerano fired a third round 73 to tie for 26th at 16-over.
Duke won the ACC Championship with a 14-under total and the the Blue Devils' Brittany Lang was the individual medalist at nine-under. The Wolfpack now awaits a bid to the NCAA Regional Championship May 6-8. Complete results from the ACC Championship are available at www.theacc.com.
