
Pack Fourth in Cougar Classic After Two Rounds

HANAHAN, S.C. - NC State is just 12 strokes off of the team lead with a score of 601 heading into the third and final round of the Cougar Classic at Yeamens Hall. Wolfpack sophomore Lorraine Ballerano is just four-over par after 36 holes on Monday, having fired rounds of 76 and an even 72 for a total of 148. Miami and Notre Dame share the team lead with a two-round total of 589, and Miami's Tina Miller is atop the leaderboard at five-under par 139.
Ballerano was tied for 29th after the first 18 holes, but moved into the top 10 with stellar play in the second round. She shot three birdies on the back nine and was two under at the turn.
Briana Vega is just one stroke back and shares 16th-place with five others after rounds of 76 and 74 respectively. Sophomore Molly Birgmingham finished the day at 10-over and is tied for 32nd.
Leslie Stubblefield opened the day with a great round, shooting 73 and sharing 11th place. She fell into trouble in the second round and dropped to 36th after a second round score of 82 for a 156 on the day. Courtney Pomeranz regrouped in the second round with a score of five-over to finish tied for 50th at 159.
The final round of play will commence Tuesday morning at 8:45 with a shotgun start. Wolfpack players will tee off of holes four, five and six to open play.
