Wolfpack Wraps up NCAA Championships; Finishes 15th Overall

STILLWATER, Okla. - NC State men's golf completed its four-day round of golf at the 2003 NCAA Golf Championships today, Friday, May 30. The team finished 15th overall with a final score of 1226 (+72) at the Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla. Justin Moon led the Wolfpack as he finished tied for 10th with a cummulative score of 295 (+7). He shot a 75 today, +3.
The Wolfpack finished with a 312 on the day, which was +24. Clemson claimed the national title after shooting an 1191 (+39), while Wake Forest tied for fourth (1198, +46), North Carolina tied for ninth (1216, +64) and Georgia Tech ranked tied for 11th (1218, +66).
Moon continued to pace the NC State squad as he ompleted his final championship as an amatuer. Justin Walters followed in 26th place after tallying a 74 (+2) on the day. For the tournament he was +12 with a scorecard of 300. Teammates Fernando Mechereff, Sutton Barberry and Stephen Lewton finished t-49th (308, +20), t-83rd (322, +34) and 95th (341, +53) respectively.
