
Wolfpack Moves Up to 11th Heading Into Final Round

Jason Moon continues to lead NC State's men's golf team to 11th at the 2003 NCAA Championship and remain among the top-10 individuals after a third round 75. Justin Walters and Fernando Mechereffe each fired 70s in the third round to jump to 30th and 36th, respectively. The Wolfpack was +8 on the afternoon, a team best after three rounds. Among ACC schools, NC State is third, with Clemson (1st) and Wake Forest (5th) leading the way for the conference. North Carolina is in 12th and Georgia Tech is 15th. Duke missed the cut by one stroke on Thursday.
Sutton Barbrey carded an 81 to hold in 81st, while freshman Stephen Lewton is also in the top-100 with a third round 89.
The final round will tee off on Friday at Karsten Creek in Stillwater, Okla., with a team and individual champion being named at the conclusion of the round. NC State finished 6th a year ago at the NCAA Championship.
