AS A RS-SOPHOMORE (2025):
• Will miss spring practice as he recovers from surgery.
AS A RS-FRESHMAN (2024):
• Saw action in 12 games for the season, missing one due to injury.
• Earned his first career start vs. Northern Illinois, he was in for a career-high 38 snaps in the victory.
• Notched a career-high four tackles vs. Tennessee in Charlotte.
• Slowed by nagging injuries in preseason camp.
• Also has seen career action at tight end - he played one snap there in the opener.
• Named to the ACC All-Academic team.
AS A FRESHMAN (2023):
• Saw action in four games at TE and redshirted the season.
• In for a season-high 20 snaps in the win over UNC.
• Also played vs. Duke (ST), Virginia Tech (8 snaps) and Kansas State (15 snaps).
• Enrolled in January of 2023 and went through spring practice with the Wolfpack.
• Named the Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year.

HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played DE and TE at Watauga for head coach Ryan Habich.
• Career Stats: Finished his career with 196 tackles, 19 sacks and 41.5 tackles for loss. In his last two varsity seasons also caught eight passes for 143 yards and four touchdowns.
• Senior Stats: Had 70 total tackles (32 solo) and 6.5 sacks and three forced fumbles. Also had 15.5 tackles for loss.
• Junior Stats: Had 50 tackles (nine for loss), 10.5 tackles and 6.5 sacks. Also added one fumble recovery.
• Sophomore Stats: In seven varsity games had 44 tackles, 4.5 tackles and 12.0 tackles for loss.
• Freshman Stats: Played in 13 varsity games, finishing with 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
• Rankings: A consensus three-star prospect. Ranked the No. 20 player in North Carolina by On3 and the No. 27 player in the state by ESPN. 247Sports and Rivals has Shirley ranked the No. 21 and No. 22 player in the state, respectively.
