Pack Finishes in Eight at Mason Rudolph Championship

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Playing in a loaded Mason Rudolph Championship field that featured five teams ranked in the top-20 including, top-ranked Auburn, the NC State men's golf team finished in eighth place out of 15 teams in the event held at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Number-one ranked Auburn won the event by 17 shots over tournament-host and 11th-ranked Vanderbilt.
NC State was led by senior Markus Varjun who finished in a tie for 18th-place with a three-round score of one-over par. The Estonia native had his best round of the tournament in the opening round as he shot a two-under par 69 to help the Pack jump into the top-five after one round.
Joey Lenane finished next for the Pack, two shots back of Varjun with a three-round score of three-over par. To finish in a tie for 25th place The senior NC State golfer was consistent throughout the tournament as he shot a one-over par 72 in each round.
Rylan Shim finished in a tie for 32nd place, two shots back of Lenane. Shim fired a two-under par 69 in the opening round for his best 18 holes of the tournament.
Xander Goboy finished in a tie for 48th place at nine over par while Pearce Lewin rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 57th place.
The Pack is back in action on Monday, April 13 when it closes the regular season with a trip to Charlottesville, Va., for the two-day Lewis Chitengwa Memorial.
