RALEIGH – The NC State women's golf team swept the individual and team medalist honors at the 2026 City of Oaks Collegiate Invitational played at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The Wolfpack finished with a 24-over 888 (296-286-306), using a big second round to create separation and maintaining it through tough playing conditions in the third round. The tournament was NC State's final of the regular season as the team looks onto the ACC Championship next month.
The Pack had four players finish in the top 20 and three in the top 10. Marie Eline Madsen picked up her fifth career win, third on the season, with a 2-under 214 (74-68-72) to win by six strokes. The Wolfpack has now had an individual medalist in each of the last three tournaments (Madsen won Daniel Island and City of Oaks and Ellie Hildreth won Briars Creek).
Madsen used a birdie on the 18th hole in round one as momentum through the rest of the tournament, finishing the 54 holes with seven birdies and 39 pars. Her 68 on Monday marked her eighth round in the 60s and she now has 19 rounds at par or better this season. Despite windy conditions on Tuesday, she still finished at even par, one of just two student-athletes in the 73-person field to finish at par or better in the third round. Madsen had the best par 5s average (4.67), second best par 4s average (4.08) and third best par 3s average (3.07) in the field.
Vania Simont finished in a tie for third, marking a career best finish for the senior. Simont logged a 5-over 221 (76-70-75), while picking up her second top 10 finish and sixth top 20 finish this season. She has tallied top 20 showings in four of the five tournaments this spring. Simont has eight rounds at par or better this season. She had the third best par 4s average (4.17) in the field, as well as six birdies and 39 pars. Simont and Madsen each had the fewest bogeys in the field with just seven apiece.
Hildreth, who is coming off her first career win, tied for ninth with a 9-over 225 (74-74-77). She finished with six birdies and 34 pars. The finish is her second career top 10 finish and fourth career top 10 showing. Hildreth had the sixth best par 5s average (5.0) in the field.
Elizabeth Sullivan earned her career best finish with a tie for 16th with a 14-over 230 (74-74-82). She matched her career-low round with a 74 twice, earning six birdies and 21 pars through the first 36 holes. Lindsay McGrath wrapped up the lineup with a 17-over 233 (74-74-85) to tie for 31st. She logged four birdies and 24 pars through the first 36 holes.
Hosting the City of Oaks, NC State was able to have two individuals compete on the course. Leena Stephens tied for 48th with a 20-over 236 (83-73-80). Her 73 in the second round marked a new career-low 18-hole score, which she did behind four birdies and nine pars. Lea Ludwig followed in a tie for 52nd with a 21-over 237 (81-78-78).
NC State led the tournament field in par 4s average (4.21), par 5s average (4.96) and pars (177) and finished with the second most birdies (29).
