WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State women's golf team enjoyed a record day on Thursday at the 2026 ACC Women's Golf Championship. The Wolfpack shot a 4-under 284 in the first round to break a new 18-hole ACC Championship program record by four strokes. That mark was short-lived, as NC State rebroke the record in the second round with a 5-under 283.
Through 36 holes, NC State sits in fourth place with a 9-under 567, sitting eight strokes above the cutline for matchplay.
Individually, Marie Marie Eline Madsen broke an 18-hole individual program record at an ACC Championship with a 5-under 67 in the first round. That record was also short-lived, as Elizabeth Sullivan could not be stopped with a bogey-free second round with a 7-under 65. With that 65, she also broke an 18-hole freshman record at NC State and that score is also the third lowest 18-hole score in school history.
Madsen leads the Pack with a 3-under 141 (67-74) to sit in a tie for ninth. Ellie Hildreth was solid on day one with a 2-under 142 (70-72). In the first round, her 2-under 70 marked the seventh lowest 18-hole individual round at an ACC Championship in school history. Hildreth sits in a tie for 11th.
Sullivan finished the 36 holes with a 1-under 143 (78-65) with her second round score pulling her up a whopping 50 spots on the leaderboard. Vania Simont had a solid day with an even-par 144 (72-72), sitting in a tie for 23rd. Lindsay McGrath wrapped up the lineup with a 13-over 157 (75-82), sitting in a tie for 71st.
The previous 18-hole team record was 288, which the Wolfpack achieved in 2004 and 2024.
