Trumble to the Championship Finals, Robinson Earns All-American Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio – After day two of the 2026 NCAA Wrestling Championships at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, two members of the Pack are still alive to see day three. Isaac Trumble at 285 lbs will wrestle in the national finals session beginning at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
For the third season in a row, NC State wrestling has a national finalist.
In the morning session, sixth-year Isaac Trumble advanced through the quarterfinal round with a 4-0 win over seventh-seed Konner Doucet of Oklahoma State. He then secured a takedown in the final seconds of his semifinal match with No. 3 seed Taye Ghadiali of Michigan. Tomorrow in the evening session he will face No. 1 seed Yonger Bastida of Iowa State in the national championship match.
Redshirt-sophomore Vincent Robinson at 125 lbs, went to work on the backside of the bracket. In the evening session, he defeated Virginia Tech's No. 2 seed Eddie Ventresca in sudden victory for the first time in his career to earn All-American status for the second season in a row. After advancing in the consolation brackets, Robinson then took out the No. 6 seed Jore Volk of Minnesota, also in sudden victory. He now faces Troy Spratley of Oklahoma State once again, a win puts him in the third/fourth place match and a loss puts him in the fifth/sixth place match.
Freshman Will Denny and redshirt-junior Matty Singleton just narrowly missed the podium, bowing out in the blood round (round of 12), both by decisions. Denny was defeated 8-7 by five-time NCAA Qualifier Andrew Sparks of Minnesota, while Singleton was beaten 11-8 by Michigan's Beau Mantanona.
Losing in session three, Ryan Jack closed out his time with the Wolfpack. After six seasons in Raleigh, the Danbury, Connecticut native will transition to his coaching career at the KD Training Center.
