#21 Wolfpack Places Second at 2026 Metroplex Challenge

FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 21 NC State gymnastics placed second at the 2026 Metroplex Challenge on Sunday at the Fort Worth Convention Center, scoring a 196.100. The Wolfpack finished behind No. 13 UNC (196.375) while topping No. 17 Auburn (196.075) and Boise State (194.825).
NC State recorded two 9.900+ scores on the night, highlighted by Elle Hadrick's career-high and event-winning 9.925 on bars and Syniya Thomas' personal-best 9.900 on beam. With the performances, both gymnasts now own five career scores of 9.900 or better.
The Wolfpack moves to 6-3 on the season following its first quad meet of the year.
Bars (49.125)
NC State opened the meet with a 49.125 on bars, led by Hadrick's career-best 9.925 that helped her to a tie of the top spot on the podium with North Carolina's Gwen Fink. The mark was her second career 9.900+ on bars and fifth overall, tying Caroline Volk for the highest bars score by a Pack gymnast this season.
Katie Harper and Ava Myers each scored 9.825, while Volk added a 9.800 to give the lineup four scores of 9.800 or better. Emerson Fisk made her collegiate debut in the event, posting a 9.750.
Beam (49.175)
The Wolfpack moved to beam in the second rotation and totaled a 49.175. Harper and Volk opened with matching 9.750s before Autumn Rardin recorded a career-best 9.850.
Maddie Hall followed with a 9.800, and Adasyn Tackett matched her career high with a 9.875. Thomas closed the rotation with a personal-best 9.900, her fifth career 9.900+ score, marking NC State's first 9.900 on beam this season and its highest beam score of the year.
Floor (49.000)
NC State posted a 49.000 on floor in the third rotation. Thomas anchored the lineup with a 9.875, while Hadrick added a 9.850. Meg Adler contributed a 9.825 to give the Pack three scores of 9.825 or better in the rotation.
Vault (48.800)
The Wolfpack closed the meet on vault with a 48.800. Lauren Wright matched her career high with a 9.850 to lead the rotation, while Myers and Thomas each added 9.800s.
