Wolfpack Offense Continues to Roll with 10-4 Victory Over Indiana State

The Pack (2-0) was once again led by an array of hitters as Brayden Fraasman went 3-5 with a double and an RBI, Chris Mchugh had a two RBI Day, while Dalton Bargo made it back-to-Back games with a home run.
Not only was the offense dialed in, but so was Wolfpack starter Jacob Dudan (1-0), who in only his second game as a starter went five scoreless innings, holding the Sycamores to just two hits, allowing no runs, no walks, and two strikeouts. His five complete innings was the longest outing of his career.
Following Dudan out of the bullpen were three pitchers, all making their NC State baseball debut. First was freshman Sam Harris, who logged his first inning of work, allowing two runs on two hits. Fellow freshman Aiden Kitchings followed and had four strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work. Redshirt freshman Truitt Manuel, who was injured last season, came on for the first time in his career and got the final out to end the game.
Indiana State (1-1) didn't score until the sixth inning. After two consecutive hits to put runners on second and third with nobody out, Harris settled in and got two sacrifice flies and his first collegiate strikeout to end the frame. The Sycamores added two in the top of the ninth after a Jorge Cartagena home run.
The Wolfpack offense didn't wait long to put runs on the board as the Pack broke the game open in the second inning with a five-run outburst. Just like game one, Bargo got the scoring started with a home run to right field. The Pack then was patient at the plate as Drew Lanphere and Ty Head drew bases-loaded walks to extend the lead. A McHugh single and a Luke Nixon RBI off a fielder's choice made it 5-0.
NC State added runs in the next three innings as it was Lanphere, Mchugh, and Nixon once again padding the lead with Fraasman shooting an RBI double down the left field line to put the game out of reach.
The Puerto Rico Baseball Challenge concludes tomorrow in Caguas, Puerto Rico, as NC State looks to go 3-0 to start the season and takes on Seton Hall at 11 a.m. EST/12 p.m. AST.
