Wolfpack Set for In-State Showdown at UNC Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State men's soccer (3-4-3, 1-3-1 ACC) will take a trip down I-40 to take on its first in-state road opponent of the season, UNCG (3-1-5, 1-0-1 SoCon). Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at UNCG Soccer Stadium.

Series History…
- Friday marks the 12th meeting between NC State and UNCG.
- The Wolfpack leads the series 6-5-1.
- The last time these two teams met was in the 2025 NCAA tournament. The match was at NC State and ended with the Wolfpack shutting out the Spartans 2-0.
- During the 2025 regular season, the teams met in Raleigh, N.C., and ended in a 1-1 draw. Before that, the teams hadn't played each other since 2012.

- The Wolfpack entered the season ranked No. 2 nationally, dropped to No. 20 after the first two games, and has fallen out of the rankings since the second week.
- NC State was picked to finish first in the Atlantic Coast Conference, earning eight first-place votes.

- A draw with Coastal Carolina to open the season moved the team's opening record under Marc Hubbard to 2-0-1.
- The Wolfpack faced its first ranked opponent of the season, No. 23 UNCW on September 15th. NC State shut out the Seahawks 1-0 to earn its first shutout and ranked win of the season.
The Last Month of the Regular Season…
- The last month of the regular season includes seven games for the Wolfpack, with four on the road and three at home.
- The team will play three non-conference games against UNC Greensboro, UMKC and Mercer.
- As well as finish up the ACC regular season on the road at Louisville, California and North Carolina and celebrate its seniors against Stanford.
The Wolfpack Versus In-State Opponents…
- During the 2026 regular season, NC State will face six in-state opponents (Queens, Duke, UNCW, Wake Forest, UNC Greensboro and UNC).
- The Pack is 3-1-0 against in-state opponents, having beaten Queens (2-1), Duke (3-1) and No. 23 UNCW (1-0). The team lost to Wake Forest (1-2).
- NC State will face the rest of its in-state opponents on the road. UNC Greensboro on Oct. 7 and UNC on Oct. 30.
RUSSELL BERKOOOOO…
- Sophomore forward, Russell Berko has made a big impact on the Wolfpack in his first season.
- From Aylesbury, England, he currently leads the team in points (10), goals (5), and shots on goal (9). He is tied with Ervin Cruz for most shots with 18.
- Berko has earned a starting nod in every game this season and has played 550 minutes.
- The team is 3-1-1 when Berko scores.
