Pack Beats Army at Bush Cup

DURHAM, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team participated in the Bush Cup against Army on Tuesday and came away with an 8.5-3.5 win over the Black Knights in match play competition held at Old Chatham Golf Club.
The event started with four groups of foursomes playing in a doubles format. Each team secured two points in the doubles competition with Xander Goboy and Joey Lenane teaming up for one win for the Pack while Hunter Stetson and Jake Wiktor also paired up to secure a point.
In single competition, NC State created separation as the Pack won six of the eight matches and halved a seventh match.
Joey Lenane, Xander Goboy, Nick Mathews, Michael Vick, Adam Pedersen and Hunter Stetson all posted head-to-head wins while Jake Wiktor halved his match.
The Pack stays home for its next competition as it hosts the Stitch Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The two-day 54-hole event starts Friday. Live scoring the tournament can be found here.
