TEMPE, Ariz. – NC State men's tennis has recorded its highest ranking in program history for the second time this season, landing at No. 4 in the country, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Tuesday, April 1.
Just three weeks ago, the Wolfpack reached its all-time highest ranking at fifth in the country after defeating sixth-ranked Stanford and fifth-ranked Virginia in back-to-back weekends. Today, the program has now broken its highest-ranking record by being listed as the fourth-ranked team in the country.
NC State has tallied 12 ranked wins this season, with four of those in the top-10 and seven of those in the top-25. A 10-0 start to conference play in the highly competitive ACC has boosted the Pack to the top in the country. With three more regular season matches remaining, the team also looks to break its record of 10 wins in conference play, which was set last year.
The previous program-best of sixth, prior to this season, was also achieved under current head coach Kyle Spencer who is in his eighth year at the helm of the Pack.
