NC State Opens Indoor Season at Sharon Colyear-Danville and Winston-Salem College Kick-Off

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State's track and field team wrapped up the first weekend of the indoor season with athletes competing at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, MA and Winston-Salem College Kick-off in Winston-Salem, NC.
In Boston, MA, Elliott McArthur opened his season with a strong performance in the mile, running 4:03.19 to place eighth overall and become No. 9 on NC State top 10 list.
Noah Valyo and Luke Wiley compete in the 5000m, finishing 156th in 14:27.13 and 177th in 14:39.19, respectively.
In the 3000m, Kate Putman began her indoor campaign with a 14th-place finish in 9:17.92. Competing in the elite section, Angelina Napoleon ran 8:46.15, to place fourth overall, recording the second-fastest 3000m time in NC State history. Sadie Engelhardt, made her track and field debut with a 17th-place finish 9:09.47.
Briley Bickerstaff (15:59.61), Brooke Rauber (16:06.79) and Jolena Quarzo (16:15.68) competed in the 5000m finishing 40th, 54th and 72nd, respectively.
At the Winston-Salem College Kick-Off, Tony Taylor II and Bradley Pawlak represented the Wolfpack in the weight throw. Taylor II earned a runner-up finish with a personal-best mark of 17.83m, while Pawlak placed fifth (17.24m)
In the women's shot put, Iniyah Mitchell (10.38m) and Jakerra Covington (9.71m) finished 26th and 32nd, respectively. Natalie Griffith finished fifth overall in the weight throw with a personal-best 16.80m.
