NEW YORK, N.Y. – Highlighted by Nikola Markovic as the No. 1 overall pick, four student-athletes from NC State men's soccer were selected in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday.
Becoming the first-ever NC State men's soccer player to go as the No.1 overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft, sophomore defender Nikola Markovic was selected by D.C. United.
Markovic, alongside Justin McLean, Calem Tommy, and Isaac Heffess, became the 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th players in program history to be drafted. The class also marks as the most players in program history for NC State to be selected in an MLS Super Draft.
McLean also went in the first round as the No. 15 pick to the Portland Timbers, making him the fourth-highest pick in program history for the Pack.
Four-year member of the Pack, Calem Tommy was selected by the Houston Dynamo in the second round as the No. 39 pick. Teammate Logan Erb also just signed a homegrown contract with the Dynamo on Wednesday.
Redshirt-junior defender Isaac Heffess was chosen by the Columbus Crew in the third round as the No. 79 pick.
Helm of the Wolfpack program, Marc Hubbard, now tallies 13 players coached to be selected in the MLS Draft. It also marks as the most players he's had selected in a season, after previously having three of his players chosen in the 2022 draft while coaching at New Hampshire.
