COLUMBIA, MO - The NC State women claimed their fourth national championship title in five years, edging out runner-up BYU by just 16 points in a thrilling finish. NC State's time average was also only .02 seconds ahead of BYU's average time. In a race defined by depth, grit, and composure, the Wolfpack surged when it mattered most to secure yet another national title.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hannah Gapes paced the Wolfpack with a standout fifth-place finish in 18:51.3. Just 1.3 seconds behind her, Grace Hartman crossed in sixth at 18:52.6, giving NC State a powerful one-two punch at the front. Both earned All-America honors for the second straight year.
Gapes and Hartman also helped extend the Pack's impressive streak of having the longest active run of top-10 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The duo delivered top-10 performances for the Wolfpack last season as well.
