CHARLOTTE, N.C. – NC State men's soccer earns three ACC Player of the Year Awards with six players earning All-ACC honors, as announced by the conference on Wednesday morning.
After a dominant regular season slate, NC State men's soccer claims the honors for ACC Offensive Player of the Year, ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and ACC Goalkeeper of the Year. This marks the first-ever time for NC State to garner each of those specific awards.
*The ACC Player of the Year award ran from 1970-2003, switching to Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2004. ACC Coach of the Year award started in 1975 and the first Freshman of the Year award was in 1990. Midfielder of the Year began in 2014, while Goalkeeper of the Year began in 2022.
Junior forward Donavan Phillip, who leads the conference in shots (62), shots per game (3.65), points (31), points per game (1.82), goals (15), and goals per game (0.88), claims the ACC Offensive Player of the Year award.
After being listed on the All-ACC Freshman team last season, sophomore centerback Nikola Markovic claims the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award. He has started and appeared in 17 of 18 total games, logging over 1,430 minutes, tallying two goals and one assist.
Senior goalkeeper Logan Erb, who leads the conference in shutouts and shutouts per game, takes home the ACC Goalkeeper of the Year award. He leads the conference in shutouts (10), shutouts per game (0.56), save percentage (0.848), and goals against average (0.41).
In addition to those three, senior midfielder Taig Healy, who leads the conference in assists, all landed on the All-ACC First Team, making NC State the majority of the First Team list. This marks the first time since 1984 that NC State has held four players on the All-ACC First Team, and just the second time in program history to happen.
Senior defender Calem Tommy landed on the All-ACC Third Team, with freshman defender Riley Moloney making the All-Freshman team.
