Pack Finishes in Sixth Place at Williams Cup

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule on Tuesday with a sixth place finish out of 15 teams in a loaded Williams Cup field held at Eagle Point Golf Club.
The Williams Cup featured 14 schools with nine of them ranking in the top-30 in the most recent national rankings. The Pack's sixth place finish was ahead of four teams ranked in the top-25, including two teams (top-ranked Utah and fourth-ranked Auburn) that were ranked in the top-five.
Joey Lenane led the Pack with a three day score of one-under par to finish in a tie for seventh place.
It's the second straight top-10 finish of the season for Lenane.
Xander Goboy was next for the Pack in a tie for 27th. Goboy led NC State on day one with a two-under par 70.
Pearce Lewin was next for NC State one shot back of Goboy in a tie for 33rd place.
Markus Varjun finished one shot behind Lewin in a tie for 37th place and Evan Woosley-Reed rounded out the Pack lineup in a tie for 43rd place, one shot back of Varjun.
The Williams Cup was the fourth and final even for the Pack in its fall slate. NC State will return to action Feb. 15 when it begins play at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz.
