SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A late-game scoring frenzy by the sixth-ranked NC State men's soccer team boosts the team to its 10th win of the season over Notre Dame, 3-0.
Led by Aidan Payne's brace in three minutes, NC State improved to 10-1-2 (3-1-2 ACC) Friday night at Notre Dame, picking up its first win over the Fighting Irish since 2019.
Despite the game remaining scoreless for the first half, the Pack got it done in the second half, supported by Payne's brace and Donavan Phillip's 15th goal of the season.
Phillip remains the leading scorer in the nation, and for the Pack since Aaron King last scored 15 goals in the 2005 season.
The program has now secured 10+ win seasons in both of Marc Hubbard's seasons at the helm, and just 22nd overall for the program.
The Pack dominated Notre Dame, collecting 28 shots, forcing seven saves against the home team's five shots.
