
NC State Set To Take On Top Ten Columbia

RALEIGH, NC- NC State men's tennis will return to Raleigh Sunday, Feb. 4 to take on No. 11 Columbia at J.W Isenhour Tennis Center at 1:00 PM.Â

Admission to Sunday's match is free. The First 75 Fans will receive free bagels! Fans will also have the opportunity to enter their names in a drawing for the chance to win two free basketball tickets to a select future game, men's or women's.Â
ÂThe Pack are heading into Sunday's match after starting off its weekend with the biggest win in program history, taking down No. 2 South Carolina, in Columbia, SC. The Pack's win Friday night was the highest win recorded over a ranked opponent.
ÂThe Wolfpack have faced three ranked opponents out of its five match appearances so far this season. Columbia will be the fourth ranked opponent the Pack will face, and the third in the top ten.Â
ÂThe Wolfpack started off the season in the top twenty-five standing at No. 21 in ITA team rankings. After taking hits from both Duke, and Harvard, the Pack have slipped out of the top 25 looking to climb back up after its performance in Friday's matchup.Â

Joe Wayand remains No. 52 in the ITA Singles Rankings. The junior checks into the doubles list at No. 13 alongside Sophomore Martin Borisiouk. Senior Robin Catry also makes an appearance at No. 120 in ITA singles rankings.
ÂScouting the Lions:Â
Columbia heads into Sunday's match with a 3-1 record. The Lions took on the No. 13 Demon Deacons of Wake Forest Friday, Feb. 2 facing the teams first defeat of the season 2-5 in Winston-Salem.
ÂColumbia picked up the No. 9 spot this week in the ITA team rankings after moving up from No. 11 previously. Columbia features a collection of both singles and doubles rankings, including No. 24 Micheal Zheng, No. 106 Ishaan Ravichander, and No. 106 Max Westphal in ITA singles rankings.Â
ÂThe Lions additionally claim doubles pairs, No. 21 Nicolas Kotzen and Max Westphal, No. 50 Roko Horvat and Hugo Hashimoto, and No. 56 Sachin Palta and Jayden Templeman to their squad.Â
